Top 5 Low-Calorie Desserts

The incorporation of desserts at the end of every meal gives it a sense of completion as one is left with a sweet taste that lingers in the mouth. The majority of the desserts that can be found as part of the menu in restaurants are made from ingredients such as sugars, starch, creams and sometimes chocolates. These ingredients that make the dessert dish sweet can also become a health risk if consumed in large quantities. Therefore, it is important to eat just a little dessert after meals to maintain good health at all times.

However, there is still an alternative for those who have developed what is referred to as a “sweet tooth” and cannot resist dessert dishes, which is low calorie desserts. These desserts have calorie content that is minimal which is contributed to the ingredients used to prepare them. Some of the desserts that provide the body with minimal calories and are easy to prepare includes:

Fig-Pecan macaroons – This dessert is made from egg white with no use of fat in its preparation, which makes it naturally low in calories. To make certain that the figs used to make the dessert will result in the expected dessert, it is important to remove their stems which are usually quite hard.

Baby Tiramisu – This famous Italian dessert is can be prepared within a short time because of the minimum low calorie ingredients that are needed. Furthermore, it is much smaller than the regular Tiramisu that is common in many restaurants. This type of dessert is the best eaten as a snack to keep cravings for sugar away from the body.

The butterscotch is then poured onto the solid base and covered with the oats again to reveal a crumble like feel.

Lemon ice – This type of dessert is best served on a hot or warm day to help the body cool while taking care of a sweet tooth as well. The ingredients used to make the dessert are simple and can be easily be found at a local store and include ice cubes, sugar, water and lemonade concentrate that is frozen.

These ingredients are mixed together and then placed in the freezer to hold together before they are served as dessert.
